Agents are the next great thing in AI. Some define these “agents” differently from those of others, but the general idea is that they can perform tasks independently with tools with AI.
The exaggeration of the agent reached the fever, but a startup was in play relatively early: Llamaindex. Lamaindex was founded in 2023 by former Uber scientists, Jerry Liu and Simon Sue and allows developers to create customs agents thanks to unstructured data.
“Llamaindex began as an open source project in November 2022,” Liu said to Techcrunch. “I was deeply interested in the Great Language of Language Models (LLM) as well as the owner’s data outside their training phrase and I created a first series of tools with which developers can index and include LLM applications.”
With the help of the Open Flamendex Source software, which has collected millions of downloads in Github, developers can create personalized agents that extract information, generate reports and results and take some measures. Flamendex offers data and services programs such as figure, which transforms unstructured data into a structured format that can be used for some artificial intelligence applications.
Although there are other open source managers to build an artificial intelligence agent, Llamandex differs in the data event, data management and in the indication of data and in call solutions, said Liu. File data such as PDF and PowerPoint presentations can be combined, as well as for applications such as the term and soft with an agent.
Salesforce, Kpmg and Carlyle belong to companies that use Lamaindex today, said Liu.
“All these competing solutions solve specific problems in different parts of the KI genetic battery, but it is therefore the responsibility of the developer has shared fragmented solutions to create a working agent,” added Liu. “This is an important point of pain that affects maritime agents for production. Flaindex has established the task of providing the safer, more precise and easier to use platform for the establishment of final knowledge units. ”
The next chapter Flamendex is a sales department based on the company’s open source offers. Referring to Llamacloud allows customers to create agents housed in the cloud that can work and manipulate with unstructured data in a variety of formats.
Lamacloud can be provided with the installation of the software as a service or in a virtual private cloud and has functions, including control and access connection based on roles, said Liu.
In part by financing the development of Llamacloud, Llamaindex has recently collected 19 million dollars in a series of seine funding, led by Norwest Venture Partners, and also participated in Graylock. The new species brings total Flamendex funding to $ 27.5 million and Liu says that it is used to extend the equipment and development of Lamandex products.
